Why this exists

Simple books should not require a séance.

ePub*MD exists because a simple daily reader should not explode into hundreds of mystery files, fake chapter names, broken tables of contents, and “page003” nonsense.

The philosophy is plain:

Simple books need deterministic tools, not flexible ones.

This builder is intentionally narrow. It is for books where each entry stands on its own:

What it refuses to do

It does not guess your structure. It does not invent chapters. It does not try to be a desktop publishing app. It takes clean Markdown and applies fixed rules.

The core rule

# January 1

Text...

# January 2

Text...

Each # Heading becomes one entry. The EPUB uses one main XHTML file with CSS page breaks. That keeps the book stable and predictable.

The rescue part

The person using this is probably already tired. Error messages should not make them feel stupid. They should say what happened, what to do next, and when to summon a Level 5 Mage.

After a successful build, take a second. Turn around. Look at the path you climbed.

Endorse that shit.
